Custom Reports

Prior to custom reporting Spotlight Topic users must have a keyword(s) in order to generate a report. The ability to run a report on additional parameters; for example, specific audiences is critical to being able to share valuable insights with stakeholders and other business units to get a true pulse and understanding of their organization.

Users will now have the option to run a Custom Report on:

  • Topic Report - Create a report from keywords or phrases found in messages to gain insights around the topic or campaign important to you.

  • Audience Report - Create a report from a group of users to gain a pulse of what’s happening in your organization. No keywords necessary.

Users will have the option to run either a report on a Topic, a specific Audience, or both. Running a report on a specific audience will yield results of how that set of users are communicating.

Audience Report Scope

  • Platform
  • Source (Public Groups, Private Groups, Direct Messages)
  • Specific Group

Keyword Distribution

A processed Custom Report that had a keyword(s) in the search scope will now show a chart on how the queried keywords are utilized by volume and by day for the date range the report was run on. 



Note: Topic Reports will sunset with the release of Custom Reporting. All existing Topic Reports created prior to Custom Reporting will live within Custom Reporting > Legacy Tab.

Private Group Themes on the Spotlight Dashboard

System Admins will be able to navigate to System Settings > Modules > Spotlight to enable this feature so that private group content can be included in the Trending Themes Model. This will be displayed on the Spotlight Dashboard in both Daily and 7/28/90 roll ups.
