Social Listening with Signal and Spotlight

Social listening with Signal and Spotlight allows you to track and respond to your employees conversations around certain topics and themes

Below are some use cases and best practices that can help get you started.

  1. Internal Campaigns: Understand the full reach or success of internal campaigns or events.

Examples:

- Townhalls/All Employee Meetings

- Corporate Announcements (benefits/leadership changes)

- Employee Appreciate Week

- Corporate Changes (technology, additional collaboration platforms)

  • Use Spotlight to understand activity and overall sentiment in specific Workplace groups that pertain to internal campaigns or events. Measure daily, weekly or monthly how the message or theme is being received.
  • Use Signal to track internal campaign or event conversations in real time. Focus on negative conversations or questions, therefore the subject matter experts can proactively reach out or create new material and/or mitigate confusion.
  • Use Spotlight Topics and reporting in Signal to share stats on posts, related themes, reach and overall sentiment to organization stakeholders interested in the success of the campaign.
2.  Mental Health: Understand employee’s overall mental health and how you can better support employees through difficult times
  • Use Spotlight Topics and Signal to easily identify conversations that surround mental health. Use the following keyword suggestions: Depressed, depression, anxiety, anxious, mental health, crisis, isolated, isolation
  • Use the reporting overview tabs in Spotlight Topics and Signal to track various metrics to determine if there is a problem that needs to be addressed. These results can easily be shared with leadership. (note: focus on public and private groups within Signal to keep DM content private)
  • Start a mental health campaign; communicate clearly and compassionately about your current company policies and mental health treatment options.
  • Implement employee wellness programs, create a WP group about them and use WP to promote it.
  • You can then use Spotlight Topics and Signal to track these campaigns
